Test day: how it works
What to bring, what is not allowed and what the test looks like. The test is in Swedish, on paper, with multiple-choice questions.
What the test looks like
- The test is in Swedish.
- You write it on paper, not on a computer.
- The questions are multiple choice with four options. One option is correct.
UHR plans the next test for April to May 2027. The date and place have not been published. UHR has also not published how many questions the next test has or how much time you get. The first test in August 2026 was a trial with generous time. Our practice tests are based on it, and we will change the format when UHR publishes the next one.
Bring
- Your printed summons.
- Valid Swedish ID: a Swedish ID card, a Swedish driving licence or a SIS-marked ID card.
- A pencil and an eraser. Pencils are available to borrow.
- Simple earplugs from a pharmacy, if you want.
Not allowed
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, digital watches or other electronics.
- Headphones.
- Food and drink. Exceptions can be granted as an adjustment, for example for diabetes.
Tips during the test
- Read the question twice before you look at the options.
- Rule out the options you are sure are wrong. Then the choice is easier.
- Skip hard questions and come back to them at the end.
- Answer every question. A guess can be right; an empty answer is always wrong.
After the test
UHR marks the test and sends the result to the Migration Agency. You do not need to do anything yourself.
